And now comes the worst season: rain, stagnating humidity, temperature changes. Dry wood in summer is a sponge for autumn water: it absorbs, swells, and with each cycle it gets ruined a little more. However, there is a perfect window to intervene: September. The wood is dry, the days are still long, the work can be done in half the time.
